Starting your own business is no small step — but you don’t have to do it alone.
Since launching Kudos & Co, I’ve found that one of the most valuable things in business isn’t just knowing what to do — it’s who you’re doing it with. Whether you’re in NDIS admin, medical practice support, or navigating the world as a sole trader, having the right connections, tools, and community can be the difference between barely managing and genuinely thriving.
This month, I wanted to take a moment to share some of the tools, people and small wins that have made a big difference on my own business journey.
Tools That Make Life Easier
Whether you’re sending invoices, tracking time or just trying to stay on top of the paperwork, having intuitive systems matters.
One I’ve been loving lately is Rounded — a simple, Australian-made tool built just for sole traders. I use it for managing income, expenses, time tracking and client management — all in one place. It’s clean, no-fuss, and saves me hours. rounded.com.au
People Worth Celebrating
Behind every small business is a team of supporters — some you know well, and others who show up at just the right time.
One person who’s had a real impact on my journey is Angela from the VA Institute. I first met her at the Ignite Women Tasmania International Women’s Day breakfast, and that connection set the wheels in motion. In May, I attended the VA Summit in Melbourne, which gave me the tools and confidence to move Kudos & Co into full-time work.
To the VA community, the team at Ignite, and the many people who’ve quietly backed me behind the scenes — thank you. Your belief matters.
Why Small Wins Matter
As a business owner, especially in the support space, it's easy to focus only on what’s next — the next goal, next task, next challenge. But at Kudos & Co, I believe in taking time to celebrate progress, no matter how small.
Sent your first invoice? That’s a win.Hired your first casual? Huge. Finally sorted your onboarding emails? Worth a high five.
These are the things that keep us going — and they deserve recognition.
Sharing What Works
One of my goals with this blog is to create space for real talk — to share what’s working, what I’m learning, and the tools that actually help. I work with providers across the NDIS, medical, and small business sectors, so I know how important it is to have simple systems, reliable support, and a place to turn when things get messy.
So, if you’re building a business (or thinking about it), know this: you’re not on your own. There’s a community here, and you’re welcome in it.
Let’s keep sharing. Let’s keep celebrating. Because every step forward counts.
